Dee Crowe, Van Buren resident, will present a photo tour of her latest adventure to The Galapagos Islands and Machu Picchu, Peru.
Giant tortoises, sea lions, penguins, iguanas and other exotic animals are featured in the power point presentation of the uninhabited Galapagos Islands. Join Dee on her exploration of the islands' diverse terrains, desert landscapes, lush highland forest and volcanic soils.
Crowe shares her stories of the native people of Machu Picchu, Peru and their colorful culture. Machu Picchu is one of the most spectacular ancient cities in the world. It contains houses, temples and a large central square, surrounded by terraces cut into the mountainside.
The Friends of the Fred C. Fischer Library, along with The Belleville Area Historical Society and The Belleville Area Arts Council will co-sponsor Cultural Encounters 2007.
The series will take place 7 p.m. the first three Thursdays of November at the museum. Topics for the three lectures will be The Detroit River Walk, Dom Polski: Dance Hall Days and The Architecture of Historic Detroit Churches.
