"I decided to run for trustee because I believe I have the experience it takes to participate in the decisions that will affect us all," she said in a press release.
Partridge has a number of years of experience with the township and has lived in the area for just as long.
She has work experience in a number of different areas including union involvement and community service and township work. She named a list of jobs she performed in all three categories.
Partridge said her objective is to retire from her fulltime job and become a board trustee, which, is part-time.
One of the things that Partridge feels she will gain in becoming a trustee is bringing new ideas to the board. She said she can contribute to the community and would probably be serving on a commission.
"I feel I have a lot of good ideas to bring to the board to help them with the different decisions they make," Partridge said.
The election process has been going good for Partridge.
"I went Downtown to Wayne County and filed. I probably will have my first fundraiser in May," she said.
Trustee seats for Van Buren Township will be up in the August primary election.
