A plaque commemorating this recognition will be on display at the Career Technical Center located on Sumpter Road.
NATEF was founded in 1983 as an independent, non-profit organization with a single mission: to evaluate technicians training programs against standards developed by the automotive industry and recommend qualifying programs for certification and accreditation by National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, ASE.
This certification and recognition makes the Belleville High School and Career Technical Center program unique among others in the United States, many of which do not meet the high standards of NATEF.
We would like to thank the following for volunteering their time during this two year process and participation in the on-site visitation: Charles Crites, evaluation team leader, Wayne County Community College; Jim Dodd, ETL Washtenaw Community College; Fred Martin, former owner of Martin and Son Service, Inc.; Harry Uhlianuk, ASE Instructor, Ret.; John Seefeld, ASE Instructor; Karl Van Zile, ASE Instructor; Doug Hoffman, CTE Director; and Rill Curry, CTE Director, Ret.
